Meet Primal's throwers competing to be the World Axe Throwing champion! They are true ambassadors of the sport and some of the most friendly, down-to-earth people around.
Brandon is a Colorado native from Sterling and is a five-time regional hatchet champion and regional big axe champion. He qualified for both in the 2020 World Championships. Brandon is a CU-Denver graduate in electrical engineering and enjoys camping, fishing, and live music with his wife and daughter.
Jeb is from Stamford, CT. He moved to CO in 2019 and started throwing at the start of 2020. Once he realized there was higher competition, he was there. Jeb qualified for WATC and US Open/Pro-Am '20, '21, '22, and '23. Jeb was one of the first to qualify in the Pro League and has never left.
He enjoys a variety of other hobbies, and he is a photographer and a recreational therapist.
He also is a competitive weightlifter.
Josh lives in Colorado Springs and has been throwing axes since 2019. He has had multiple tournament podiums and competed in the 2021 & 2022 World Championships. In addition to throwing axes, Josh is also an axe maker. He builds high-end custom throwing axes and is the 2023 WATL craftsman of the year. Josh also enjoys working on race cars and traveling with his wife and two kids.
Wes lives in Loveland and has been throwing axes for just over a year. Some of his accomplishments include first place duals, second place hatchet, and second place big axe at the Spring Regional Championship. He enjoys 3-Gun and long-range competitive shooting and spending time with his wife and French Bulldog.
Originally from New Mexico, Chris Marquez moved to Colorado in 2010 and has since made a name for himself in the Denver area as a skilled plumber. He owns and operates Westside Plumbing, bringing his expertise to the community for the past 14 years. Chris was introduced to axe throwing at a work event and was immediately hooked. He began competing in 2021 and quickly rose through the ranks. In 2023, he earned a bid to the World Championships for duals.
Chris competes in all events, including hatchet, big axe, duals, and knives, participating in both the International Axe Throwing Federation (IATF) and World Axe Throwing League (WATL). Beyond competing, he enjoys customizing axes and has started making custom hats for fellow axe throwers. Chris is passionate about the sport and continues to be an active and enthusiastic member of the axe-throwing community.
